Ailments & Status Effects

How Ignite, Shock, Bleed, and Chill work after Live Update 0.1.8.9: Ailment Power in the upgrade pool, rarer stack cards, and build tips for DoT and Shatter lines.

Ailments & Status Effects

Live Update 0.1.8.9 reshaped status play: Ailment Power entered the upgrade pool while Ignite / Shock / Bleed / Chill stack cards became rarer. Use this page to retune DoT and Shatter builds.

Ailment Power (0.1.8.9)

When offered, Ailment Power strengthens Ignite, Shock, Bleed, and Chill. Because stack cards are rarer and Epic/Legendary brackets are lower, Power plus strong evolutions usually beat spamming weak stack rolls.

Ailment Effect Build Tip
Ignite Fire damage-over-time. Card text clarity improved in 0.1.8.7; Ailment Power (0.1.8.9) amplifies the burn. Core for Leo clear and Shatter setups. Stack chance cards are rarer after 0.1.8.9 — grab Ailment Power when you see it.
Shock Increases damage taken and feeds lightning chain fantasies (Gemini / Ursa Major / Thunder Chakram). Pair with Chain Lightning Chaos or Storm Orb Galaxy. Prefer Power over endless stack spam now that stacks are rarer.
Bleed Physical DoT. Scales with hit rate and Ailment Power after 0.1.8.9. Strong when projectiles hit many times per second. Check DPS meter to confirm the DoT is carrying.
Chill Slows enemies and enables Shatter when broken by fire. Competes with monster Slow Resistance (0.1.8.3+). Use Chill to set up Absolute Zero + fire shatter. Do not rely on chill alone for Incremental Endless.

What Else Changed With 0.1.8.9

Card economy and mid-run pressure shifted alongside ailments — plan drafts differently than July patches.

  • 1 Rare rarity is gone; Epic is 5%–8.5% and Legendary is 10%–15%.
  • 2 Item Quantity gains on cards were reduced after overperforming.
  • 3 A new mid-run event and monster variation raise burst pressure — keep AoE and Lifesteal ready.
  • 4 DPS meter values, spell shadows with Skill Opacity, and several card/XP bugs were fixed.
